Knight of Cups

General

The Knight of Cups is often associated with a person, most commonly associated with a suitor, and this is someone who is a romantic and charismatic. This person is charming and in tune with their emotions. Often, I see knights as messengers and I often see this card as an offer of love or a message about love coming through. In traditional tarot, there is a knight riding on a white horse whilst holding a cup. And this knight is not charging along (unlike the Knight of Swords or Knight of Wands), he is moving forward pretty slowly, and there is a sense of peace and calmness. So, to me, this knight is someone who follows their heart, and someone who is less likely to rush into things.

Upright

In the upright position, the Knight of Cups is about romance, devotion and just being a Prince Charming. The Knight of Cups represents listening to your heart as well and perhaps someone who is quite the mediator or negotiator. In love, the Knight of Cups is a great card to receive. This card represents romance, attraction, flirtation, being in love, etc. This could represent a person who cares about you and your feelings and someone who is loyal and committed to you, or you may be committed to your person. In career and finances, this could mean that you are enjoying your work. Or your work involves being able to be diplomatic and tactful, and this may be your strength and/or something you really enjoy. It could also mean that you are finding creative ways to achieve your goals.

Reversed

In the reversed position, the Knight of Cups may mean that you may be idealising what you want to achieve, or that you need to be a little more realistic about your goals and dreams. It could also mean that you allow your emotions to rule over your life and you may be prone to being moody or emotional. In love, this could mean being in love with the idea of love and not truly being in love. This could also mean that the person that you are dealing with (or you) could be quite erratic emotionally. You may be avoiding conflict in love or may be dealing with a passive aggressive partner. In career and finances, this could mean that you are moody or tense at work, or you are allowing the energy of your work situation affect you.
