Two of Wands

General

The Two of Wands is about planning for projects or businesses, or plans in general. It is also about team work and partnerships. The traditional depiction of tarot shows a man standing on top of a tower, with a globe in his hand, overlooking the world outside. To me, this means that he is planning for the future, and the globe in his hand represents the possibilities that life and the world presents to the holder. And this is the same energy that the two of wands represent – that there is potential in the thing that you have been asking about.

Upright

The two of wands is about moving forward and progression. This is growth from the ace of wands, where everything was an idea or everything is still a potential. The two of wands is taking action on these plans or potential. In love, this could mean that you and your partner/person are setting romantic goals or making plans and planning a future together. This has a hopeful tone to it, and perhaps it is also about discovering what you both have envisioned for the future of the relationship. In career and finances, this card symbolises you planning your career and manifesting your dreams in the 3D. You are laying the foundations for the future, and planning your long term financial future.

Reversed

The two of wands could mean that you need to have plans but you do not have one at the moment. You may have an overarching plan but the best plans have little sub-goals and milestones and timelines which you have failed to incorporate, and this is something that is keeping you from your dreams. In love, your plans could have fallen through, or that your connection lacks a direction. You both might not have any long term plans for this connection (or one of you doesn’t). In career and finances, there are unexpected obstacles and things may not be going to plan. You may be experiencing a little inertia when it comes to implementing your plans.
