King of Pentacles

General

The King of Pentacles is a card that symbolises an accomplished person. This is someone who is successful in their careers and in building stability and security for themselves. I also see this card as representing a fatherly figure. In traditional tarot, the King of Pentacles is sitting on a throne that is wrapped in vines. This symbolises the material success that he has achieved. Like the Queen of Pentacles, he is also dressed immaculately, and looks sophisticated and abundant. The castle in the background shows what he has achieved.

Upright

In the upright position, the King of Pentacles represents someone who is business oriented and someone who is financially stable. This is someone who is traditional and may stick to the same outlook and has their culture deeply ingrained into them. In love, the King of Pentacles represents a serious relationship and a couple who are emotionally and financially secure. The King of Pentacles is a family man, and may do everything that he can for his family, and these are the traits seen in the querent or their partner. In career and finances, this is someone who is successful and financially stable, perhaps a mentor or a boss and someone who has a good reputation in the work place. This card could indicate that the querent might be moving towards this level of success too.

Reversed

In the reversed position, this is someone who is overly focused on money and materialistic things. Or someone who is a stickler to rules and traditions to the point that it becomes a little annoying. The King of Pentacles in the reversed position may indicate an empty achievement, everything looks good on the outside and the querent is lacking happiness and substance. In love, this could mean a materialistic or greedy lover. This could mean someone who is controlling or someone who is too traditional, and this can be a dampener on the relationship. In finances and career, this could talk about a person who is unsuccessful and someone who is in debt. This is someone who has lost the kingdom that they have built.
