Seven of Pentacles

General

The Seven of Pentacles is about planting seeds for the future and putting in consistent work in order to see the fruits of your labours. This card is about growth and investments (whether these are monetary or investments of time and energy into a particular project or into your own personal growth). In traditional tarot, the Seven of Pentacles depicts a young man who is admiring the pentacles growing from his bushes. This shows that there has been a good harvest and he reserves one pentacle for himself, whilst he plants the other pentacles with a view of the long term. The Seven of Pentacles talks about patience here as well.

Upright

In the upright position, the Seven of Pentacles is about investment and effort that you put into these investments. This can also talk about needing to invest a lot of time and effort into the long term goals that you have. In love, this could mean that there is a need for patience and putting work into the relationship. This is about working on the relationship, which would blossom over time. In career and finances, this card talks about progression, which is slow and steady. Results will come in over time. This could also indicate sound investments that would produce fruit in the future.

Reversed

In the reversed position, the Seven of Pentacles may signify that the returns of your labour is not as significant as you might have initially believed it to be. It might be time to reconsider your long term goals and investments (and whether the amount of effort put in is sufficient). In love, this could mean that the effort that you put into the relationship may not be paying off, or that one or both of you are impatient in love and may resort to forcing something to happen rather than allowing it to happen naturally. In career and finances, this could mean that there is stagnation and no results coming in. Or you might experience financial losses from investments.
