Six of Cups
General
The Six of Cups is that of nostalgia and of missing the past. This is my reconciliation card when I read on love and relationships, especially since this is a card about missing how things were in the past. This is also a card about childhood or working through inner child healing. In traditional tarot, a child is passing a cup filled with flowers to another. This symbolises passing of traditions and could sometimes mean happy reunions. There is something very sweet and safe about the Six of Cups.
Upright
In the upright, the Six of Cups indicates that you want to return to happier times, times when you were a child or the past. This is about return to something familiar or reminiscing about how things were, and how simple things were in the past. In love, this is a card that could indicate reconnecting with an ex and sometimes a reconciliation. This card is about reliving happier memories and healing the past. In career and finances, this is about learning from the past and not repeating past mistakes. This could be a move back home, or moving in with parents.
Reversed
In the reversed position, the Six of Cups symbolise clinging onto the past or trying to live in the past. The Six of Cups reversed could be indicating that it may be time for you to break free from the past and the chains of the familiar, step out of your comfort zone. In love, this could mean an inability to move on. This could mean clinging onto past loves so much so that you are unable to live in the present. In career and finances, this could mean that you are being forced to leave your current job or what you are comfortable dealing with. This is about stepping out and moving out of your parents’ house and becoming independent.
