Ace of Swords

General

The Ace of Swords, being an Ace, is often symbolic of a new beginning. And since it is from the Suit of Swords, it often represents a clarity and new thought. The Ace of Swords is about breakthroughs and clarity coming through. It can sometimes predict quick and forceful action. In traditional tarot, the Ace of Swords is depicted by a hand emerging from the clouds wielding a sword. This sword is often drawn with a crown and wreath. Very often, the Ace of Swords predict that things can go any way, and this is a double edged sword. The crown and wreath symbolise the power to rule and success and victory.

Upright

The upright position of the Ace of Swords represents breakthroughs and clarity shining through and lighting up the path ahead. You may be seeing a situation from a new perspective and possibilities and solutions come to you naturally. In love, this could mean that you may be receiving communication which would bring about a breakthrough or a new beginning for this connection. This could also mean that you and your person are talking about your relationship with honesty and having a heart to heart conversation. When asking whether an ex lover is coming back, this is an extremely positive card to receive as it is an indication that they are soon coming towards you. In finances and career, this card represents that you have plenty of new, fresh and exciting ideas which you should put into action. This could also mean that you are in a stimulating work environment. You are focused on the work that you are doing and you are able to think rationally. This could also mean that you are thinking clearly when it comes to how you spend your money.

Reversed

In the reversed position, the Ace of Swords may mean that there is confusion and haziness over what is really happening. This is not the best time to make any sudden movements or decisions because you are unable to see the bigger picture. In love, this could mean that there is a failure to communicate what you want from each other. There may be arguments and both of you may not see eye to eye. Sometimes, this could represent an extremely excessive relationship or that things can progress rather quickly suddenly, or you may be dealing with someone who is unsure of what they want from you and may be giving mixed signals. In career and finances, you may feel quite uninspired by the work that you are doing. There may be a block in the communication channels between you and your colleagues, you and your boss or you and your clients or external partners. This could also mean that you may have to double check your financial statements and make sure that you are not making a mistake.
