The Ten of Swords is about betrayal and backstabbing. It can talk about painful endings and loss. But the positive thing about the appearance of the Ten of Swords is that this tough cycle is coming to an end and this hardship and struggle is something that is coming to an end. It’s up to you whether you are going to close out this chapter and start again, and you know what they say, once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up. In traditional tarot, the ten of swords depicts a man lying on the ground with ten swords stabbed into his back. There is darkness all around him but there is a sun rising in the distance signifying a new dawn.

Upright

In the upright position, the Ten of Swords indicates a disaster or betrayal. There is devastation and tragedy all around and the querent is not in the best phase of their lives at this point in time.
